cc skye gunmetal and crystal line ring £62
asos thumb and finger rings with adjoining chain £10
fallon gold micro spoke bar ring £69
Brroklyn Bridge Cubic Zirconia encrusted ring with 22k gold plated brass $250
asos sleek metal triple finger ring with chains £15

This ring was a bargain, was buying a tee from urban outfitters and
saw this in the sale bucket for $4, I picked it up and made the man
check it was actually $4..and it was. I love it, it goes across all
four fingers and I feel really tough when I wear it, although movement
in my fingers is tough, its fab.

Love her or hate her

"Our interview is conducted in a circus atmosphere. Within seconds of entering the room, Dickinson threatens to disrobe. She kicks off her high heels and drops her fur coat on the floor, practically snapping her fingers at the boyfriend, as she commands, 'Take care of that, honey.'"
Extract from March edition of Elle magazine

You gotta admit, she's still got it.

I love The Duchess, such a great film, Keira Knightley always acts beautifully in period dramas. I love the whole Victorian era, the dress, the etiquette, the whole notion of society. Although I am glad that I live in the 21st century, I hate that woman were inferior in society and that the only way to improve your life was to marry.

Georgina Cavendish was a lady ahead of her times, she was an active political campaigner in a time when woman's suffrage was still over a century away. Her fashion was extravagant and grand, she was one of the first to sport this oversized large hat which became remarkably fashionable. She was a woman who was conformed to the strains of society, trapped in her home and married to a husband who she didn't love. But she did it all for the love of her children.

I really shouldn't have left my packing to go home the morning after carnage, when I had a 10 am lecture and a tutorial session...but I did, so my packing was sparse to put it nicely. I think I was still drunk, I was wearing little dolly shoes to travel in, my feet were freezing and I brought not one pair of shoes with me. I packed little vest tops, one jumper, one pair of legging and a pair of jeans.
So when I'm at home I love raiding my little sisters wardrobe. I love her style, the other day we went for a meal at the pub, and she wore baggy crotch jeans, a hoodie with a body-warmer over it, with her Nike ID's with her name stitched on the back. She was wearing massive bright headphones connected to her ipod and flowery shades which she never took off. She's only 14 and she's so fearless with her fashion, she doesn't care what people think which I admire. Sometimes I wish I was a bit more adventurous.

I found these in her wardrobe and stole them for a night out.

topshop shirt, my sisters also..
She always moans at me for stealing her clothes, but in my defence I was on skype to her recently and she was wearing my top and cardigan and told me she borrowed my bag too, oh and I left my skirt behind which she's been borrowing...

okay

I know I've been posting a LOT today, but in my defence I'm at home extremely bored and I have a lot of stuff to share because I've been a very very bad blogger. :( tehe.
For my magazine article, I chose to concentrate on Luxury not being about the extravagant, the biggest or even the most jewelled gown, but how luxury items can be about the material. Soft flowing silks, pure silhouettes, and the intricate accents that make an item truly unique and a luxury to own.

"And Luxury lies not in the richness or ornateness but
in the absence of vulgarity...I stay in the game
to fight it"
-Coco Chanel

I was recently browsing the instyle website and came across this segment called 'The secrets behind Designers inspirations'. It was really interesting looking at all the designers drawing and mood boards, each so different and unique but all showing their creative ability and pure imagination to create their collections.

A few of my favourites were DKNY and Marchesa. I love the drawing style of Donna Karen's sketch and with Marchesa's they said they took inspiration from Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations, drawing particular attention to Miss Havisham's character. I think this is clearly noticeable through their image, the black and white, the lace, the mystery and the romance is all captured perfectly.

I like it

Photographer Mario Testino posted this video from Kristen Stewart's Vogue shoot and she looks so glamorous, yet effortless at the same time. To be honest I'm not usually a fan, I find her role as Bella on Twilight very irritating, but I can't wait to see what the photos turn out like! I love it when she laughs and throws her head forward, the whole video reminds me of an old Hollywood scarlet.

So..

Sorry, I've been a little absent of late! I had my trip to New York and then had a marketing report to write and lot of other silly excuses. But hooray, the report is done and handed in. It was basically my life for three weeks, but I'm happy with the results. Our brief was to introduce a new product range in to an already existing brand. I chose Mango, as I've always been a fan of their brand and wanted to learn more about the company. I decided to introduce a Mango Home-ware range, as home-ware is such a growing market, many premium brands have delved in to this area such as Missoni and Ralph Lauren as well as medium priced brands such as Jigsaw and Zara.
I loved researching all the different brands and learning more about each company's brand identity as well as researching the home-ware market which was a totally new area for me.

I shall be updating more regularly from now on, especially as I begin to share my ideas about my up and coming projects at university. As well as updating my New York blog, which can I just say was the most amazing holiday!
