love

Alexander McQueen's Spring 2011 clutches are gorgeous. I love the intricate detail of the leaves, flowers and the skull. I love the contrast between the knuckle duster and skull and the whole nature imagery. Shame it would cost me my arm and leg to have one. I wonder which high street brand will copy this first? Take your bets...

christmas treats

I got some very lovely presents for christmas, including my pink hat, which is just adorable, it has a little pink bow on the side :) My mum also got me this waterfall knitwear jacket/cardigan (what would you call it?) from Republic. Its a really nice material and I love the colour, a sort of mix of light and dark greys. The long sleeved top is just a basic jersey from Primark, the legging, oh the legging are my absolute bargain, not sure if it's visual in this photo but there is a transparent panel running down the sides of both legs, they are from Tesco at £1! yes I did say £1. The boots are from Brantano, bought them years ago now, but there very handy in this cold, snowy weather!
On another note, I adore the mac 2010 Christmas range, why have I only just realised that? I so bad want all of their range, especially because the sets come in the loveliest tartan boxes that you can reuse. Most of the sets are SOLD OUT on the website, but there are a few left which I have my eye on. Should I spend £63 on mac? Decisions decisions...

christmas day means a christmas outfit ...

My lovely mother treated me to a Christmas outfit which I love.
Leather style shorts from topshop, £38
Blouse, Topshop, £38
Necklace, Secret Santa present from my friend :)
Flat shoes, An absolute bargain from Asda, £8
Black Tights, erm tesco maybe?

I adore my New look ring, it was part of one of their concession ranges and got it for such a bargain at £7 in a sale ages ago!

Christmas hat and yoyo are optional, but I think they really complete the look...

xmas time

It seems that whenever England gets a touch of snow the whole country goes in to meltdown! True to form the snow this year has ruined many a plans, I do not want to get stranded in the freezing cold thank you very much. But with the freezing cold, comes dressing up very very warm and snuggly in chunky knits, thick scarf's and a good winter coat. I love mine this year, a camel coloured duffel style coat from River Island that my nanna bought for me! plus a hood..which is a necessity in this weather...I always seem to lose or can't find an umbrella at the right time.

I am now back home from university, which means catching up with family and friends which I haven't seen for a while. I also decorated my christmas tree which my family happily left me while they were all in work and school. I think I did quite a good job. Unfortunately being home also means back to work, which is mon-fri at the moment. However on the plus side, I get to have a mooch at all the gorgeous new clothes from Topshop, it distracts me too much.

feeling sensual

"Sensual pleasures are like soap bubbles, sparkling, effervescent. The pleasures of intellect are calm, beautiful, sublime, ever enduring and climbing upward to the borders of the unseen world."

i'm a busy bee

So, I made this blog a while back and I abandoned it :( sorry! Although, to my defense I have been busy of late...
I suppose the most exciting news is that I got my A level results in august which was a very stressful time for me. I tend to over analyse things too much and stress too easily about things, even when I don't even think I'm stressing I am. I had to go the doctors for stress when I was 11 years old. 11! I had just done my 11+ test to get in to a Grammar School and I thought I did really bad because I missed 20 questions out. The doctor, although I question how qualified he actually was, told me that all girls my age lose their hair...which was later discredited by a lovely, more qualified doctor, thankfully. Anyway, I passed the 11+. What was I saying? Oh yes I got in to my university! wheyyyyy. The feeling of dread and nerves I had were overwhelming, but I was rather pleased with my AABCC grades :) As I said I over analyse things too much so even though I was happy with my grades I started adding up the UMS scores and was soon unhappy to learn I was only 1 mark off an A in my religious studies. As my nan would say..'You'd think they'd just give you the mark, being so close like that...' I try to explain it doesn't exactly work like that...

Moving on to more exciting news is that I have now become an auntie to a gorgeous little girl called Maisie Leigh. Even more exciting was that I passed my driving theory on the same day!! I couldn't have wished for a better way to spend my last few months at home.
plus it was my nan's birthday today, so to celebrate the family went for dinner in New Brighton. It was fun, although there was a massive table full of people next to us with kids screaming and crying and parents swearing and screaming. They only left the poor waitress 5p tip and there was about 20 of them. How mean! My mum and nan felt compelled to show their generosity so gave her £10, she was made up! I took a picture of the gorgeous sunset at around 8pm...

So Happy (she says 21st..) Birthday Nan, hope you had a fabulous day. I will end with a photo collage thingy I did for my art A level. A photograph of my nan and grandad with old postcards overlayed :) They are both gorgeous. <3

this is what I decide to do at five past one at night

Start a random blog, eh why not? So read my about me if you want to get to know me, well know a little about me, how much can you really tell from a 1200 character about me section? Why am I so questioning? ha.
So yes, I had a blog ages ago, when I was a little baba in year 8 or 9, and reading them back, apart from the obvious embarresment, it was nice to see a day by day journal of my life. Reading about petty arguments, boy dramas and parent nagging made me realise how nice blogs are. Somewhere to vent your anger, passion, love, and express your freedom.
Well, maybe I should tell you a little more about me. I have just finished my final year at Sixth form college, were I studied art, English literature, religous studies and English language. So I'm now hoping to go on to university at Nottingham trent to study fashion, something which I love. Fashion is always a common interest for young teenage girls, but what I love about fashion stems deeper than just the glitz and glam of the clothes (saying that I wouldn't mind a vintage chanel bag, please) I love the individuality of every cover of a magazine, of every photography taken, and the idea and theme behind the photoshoot, article and runway show produced. Basically I love intelligence behind the fashion, thats what makes photograpahers like Steven Meisel so successful and inspiring. Sorry I went on a mad rant then, I will continue to act like a normal human being :) My day today was rather good, I had my last exam, general studies, which by the way my uni doesn't even accept so I don't know why my school makes us do it nfjenfjfnjkfndskj! It was awful, a whole paper on climate change and transport. I dropped science so I didn't have to learn about all that, so I had no idea what so ever. Maybe I shouldn't have lost the source booklet we got weeks before to read, that might have helped, well probably not. So we had four questions in Section A, so I though 'Oh we've only got to do four questions worth 11 marks for the whole paper, that's okay'...well I took my time quite leisurely, stopping every so often to rest my poor poor aching hand. Well I was WRONG...I turned the booklet over with 25 minutes left till the exam was due to finish to find, wait for it, yes a section B, with a question worth 25 marks. I was so annoyed at myself, how am I so stupid? So I rushed it all, writing the same amount for the 11 mark question as I did for the 25 mark one, definatly done fab in that one...
But all in all I don't care to be honest, I'm free for the entire summer to have fun and not care about a stupid exam which my uni doesn't even take in to consideration.
After my exam I went to my friends birthday bbq at her house, which was lovely. We ate some fab food in the garden while drinking lambrini and wkd, (classy girls...) and just relaxed and talked and laughed for a few hours. Then we ate some more, we had muffins, and shortcake and doughnuts and ohmygod the cutest cupcakes ever...
