The autumn/winter 2011 jewellery collection from Kali Arulpragasam is provocative, thought provoking and striking, some might say for the wrong reasons. Each piece of jewellry, made from rubies, sapphires and garnets are made to resemble bullet wounds, cuts and machine gun fire to the body. The designer has said that the cuts and wounds on the models are to represent the inhumanities of the world. I love the collection, its emotionally charged, has the shock factor that makes you want to view the next image, yet the collection is still breathtakingly beautiful. Controversial? I've seen much worse, especially when sex and the macabre are common themes seen used to promote everything from a new collection to a perfume range.
I find the most interesting photographs are energetic, free and playful. I love messing around with my sister. these were all taken in my garden/decking. I love her doc martins but they look ridiculous on me.
